Black Tea Hot Toddy

Warm up with a Black Tea Hot Toddy featuring quality ingredients from some of our amazing Portland-based neighbors. This beverage can be made with or without alcohol, and is equally delicious either way.



PREP: 10 MINS   //   YIELD: 1 SERVING
INGREDIENTS
|  8 oz water
|  1oz @portlandsyrups Autumn Spice syrup
|  1 bag black tea, like Portland Breakfast from @smithteamaker
|  1 tsp Raw Buckwheat honey from @jacobsensaltco
|  Ground cinnamon or 1 cinnamon stick
|  Lemon slice
|  Optional: 2 oz whiskey, bourbon or rum

DIRECTIONS

|  Bring water, Autumn Spice syrup, and cinnamon stick (or dash of cinnamon) to a boil. Then turn off the burner and let the mixture simmer for 1 minute.⁠

|  Pour the mixture into a mug and steep black tea for 5 minutes. 

|  Squeeze and remove the tea bag, then stir in honey.

|  Squeeze lemon the add slice to garnish.

|  Optional: Stir in 2 oz of your favorite whiskey, bourbon or rum, and get cozy with your cordial.⁠


 

Portland Syrup brews exquisitely flavored lower-sugar mixers using whole botanical ingredients. Each 16 oz. bottle will make nearly a gallon of finished soda, or 16-32 cocktails, depending on your palate.
