There are fewer smells better than hot, crispy bacon. Besides Spiced Chai Candied Bacon that is! We’ve rebranded our Limited Edition Summer Chai into our permanent Bright Chai, while keeping all the same ingredients and flavor that you love. Below is our newest recipe and we think you should make it ASAP... like yesterday.
PREP: 2 HRS // COOK: 20 min // YIELD: 4 Serving
| 1/2 c unpacked brown sugar
| 1/2 tbsp @bluelotuschai Masala Chai with Star Anise
Marinate bacon in the chai syrup (you don’t have to use the entire bottle, just enough to fully submerge the bacon) in the refrigerator for two hours. Preheat your oven to 400F and place a wire cooling rack that’s been sprayed with oil onto a sheet pan. Combine all dry ingredients in a shallow dish and whisk together. Pour the marinade off of the bacon and with each individual piece, press the bacon into the dry mixture until lightly coated, dusting off any excess. Do this with each piece, laying them in a single layer across the wire rack. Bake for 18 minutes, flipping once half way through. Once the bacon is cooked through, broil for two minutes to get the bacon crisp (but keep a close eye as not to burn them). Once the bacon has cooled, enjoy! Good luck eating just one piece!
Portland Syrup brews exquisitely flavored lower-sugar mixers using whole botanical ingredients. Each 16 oz. bottle will make nearly a gallon of finished soda, or 16-32 cocktails, depending on your palate.
